Bootlace, formerly Ian Harold Brown of the 101st Airborne, operated out of Calshot, UK during Operation Treadstone. He was a carry over into Treadstone from the defunct Operation Silverlake that had been active during the 1950s.

Background

A protege of Ward Abbott, Bootlace provided the intellectual continuity, in terms of PsyOps and WetOps, to rapidly get Treadstone off the ground in time for it to be useful before the end of the Vietnam War and for it to flourish into a Cold War global operation.

Bootlace's role in Silverlake had been to run the internment facility at Camp Silverlake.
