SIG Pro

Bourne Ultimatum Intro

Bourne, with a SIG Pro in Moscow.

Overview[]

The SIG Pro is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Swiss Arms AG (formerly SIG Arms AG and Sauer & Sohn) and distributed in United States by the SIGARMS. It was the first polymer-framed handgun from either company. It is available in several variants (SP 2009, SP 2022 and SP 2340) and chambered in .40 S&W, 9 mm Parabellum and .357 SIG.

The SIG Pro series of pistols is a joint effort between two famous European arms makers; SIG Arms AG (now Swiss Arms AG) and J. P. Sauer & Sohn of Germany. As with other joint ventures between the two companies these pistols are sometimes referred to as SIG Sauer. It was originally developed as a .40 S&W caliber service pistol with a polymer frame and modular design and was first announced in 1998 as the SIG Pro SP 2340. About one year later, the 9mm version, designated the SP 2009, was introduced and entered production.

Appearances[]

  • The SIG Pro SP 2009 is carried throughout the film by Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) as well as by some of the CIA agents. The SIG Pro pistol is apparently a Bourne favorite, it was first seen in his Zurich deposit box (The Bourne Identity). In Ultimatum, we see Bourne often using the updated SP2022 variant, and in one of the final scenes, where he is holding Dr. Hirsch at gunpoint, there is a continuity blooper where some cuts show Bourne holding a Glock, and some cuts show him holding the SIG Pro.
  • Paz also uses a SIG P229 with a suppressor when pursuing Bourne in New York City.
  • Bourne aimed a SIG Pro SP2022 at a Russian police officer in Moscow.
  • Jason Bourne uses a Sig Sauer P225 throughout The Bourne Supremacy after arriving in Naples. It is most notably seen when he confronts Treadstone asset Jarda in his home, and when Bourne uses it to shoot through the door of his stolen taxi at Kirill's Mercedes in Moscow.
